On Tuesday, 13th August Giffords Circus was delighted to present Heidi Orton, Fundraising Assistant at Longfield Community Hospice with a cheque for £500 towards its vital work in the local community.
Longfield Community Hospice is based just across Minchinhampton Common from where Giffords Circus is currently based. It is the most wonderfully inspiring place, filled with joy, and not at all what you would expect from a hospice. Despite not having beds, Longfield looks after over 1,600 patients each year, providing community based services such as counselling, support for carers, and wellbeing sessions.
Anyone in Gloucestershire that has been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness can access the support for free, which is why Giffords Circus has chosen to support their vital work. The money will go towards the incredible work of Longfield, and their team of nurses to continue to care for people in their own homes and their families, pre and post bereavement.
“We are so thankful to everyone at Giffords Circus for their very generous contribution which will enable us to continue providing care and support to those living locally with a life limiting condition and their loved ones and carers. We rely on the local community for 85% of our income and the continued support of people like Giffords.” Kirsty Murray, Senior Fundraising Manager.
