We are so excited to launch this beautiful Giffords Circus x Pollock’s ‘make your own’ pop-up theatre, designed by Jack Fawdry Tatham in collaboration with Giffords Circus.
Pollock’s have been making toy theatres since the 1850’s and their museum (currently looking for a new home) was for many years in Fitzrovia, London, in fact Giffords Circus founder, Nell Gifford, adored the museum and its labyrinth of rooms and magical theatres so much, that she would send her staff there for inspiration.
This theatre was designed and produced by Jack Fawdry Tatham, an artist and great grandson of the museum founder, Margeurite Fawdry, who our Head of Art, Joe Avery, was delighted to meet last year when researching ideas from the 1800’s for our new show and mailer.
The pop-up theatre comes in a book, to cut out and make into a beautiful card theatre, and features all the artistes from this year’s show Les Enfants du Paradis, even the spotted ponies! The Giffords Circus x Pollock’s pop-up theatre book is on sale for £18 in our shop wagon at Giffords Circus and also online here in our shop.
Sadly Pollock’s Toy Museum is not currently open and is actively searching for new premises to display their amazing treasures and gorgeous toy theatres. Please visit www.pollockstoymuseum.co.uk for up to date news and information about special commissions and new premises.
