The Circus Rolls into Bowood for the First Time

November 20th 2019

In 2021 Giffords Circus will roll into Bowood House & Gardens for the first time on its twentieth anniversary UK tour. With shows from 15th April to 26th April 2021, tickets to the circus are on sale now.

Considered to be one of Wiltshire’s greatest hidden treasures, Bowood House & Gardens is open to visitors between April and October annually. Home to the Marquis and Marchioness of Lansdowne, Bowood House is a veritable treasure trove of artistic, architectural and historical curiosities. The ‘Capability’ Brown designed parkland boasts an extensive arboretum and pinetum. Central to the design of the park is the stunning lake with cascade waterfall; plus the Doric temple set on a small promontory.

The award-winning walled gardens are a horticulturists dream and don’t miss the stunning 30-acre Woodland Gardens, open during the flowering season for just six weeks, typically from mid-April to early June each year.

Bowood also hosts one of the most exciting children’s adventure playgrounds. A pirate ship, swings, slides, balance beams and trampolines are dwarfed by a labyrinth of aerial walkways, designed to challenge and trill. For smaller children, there is an indoor soft play area.

Bowood House & Gardens – open daily from 1st April – 1st November 2021
