Tweedy announces he won’t appear in the Giffords Circus show in 2024.
“I will still be a consultant and involved with Giffords next year but won’t be appearing in the show. It’s something I’ve been thinking about for a little while as the season is always a big commitment, and leaves me no time for holidays and festivals and I’ve missed out on so many things over the years, weddings, funerals etc. Giffords Circus is a huge part of my life, and whilst I will miss not being in the show, I look forward to trying new things and maybe even chilling out a bit,” he says.
Tweedy has performed with Giffords Circus since 2004, only having one year off in 2010 since then. He is a huge part of Giffords Circus and we all love him dearly.
He works so hard, and we all see how physical his comedy is, so completely applaud and support his decision to have a break, even though we will all miss him in the show. Tweedy will continue to support the creative direction of Giffords Circus and will be involved behind the scenes. We hope he has an amazing year off and look forward to following all his adventures.
Giffords Circus has always been and remains an ensemble cast with a diverse and ever changing cast of talented artistes and performers in the shows, we can’t wait to see what director Cal McCrystal has in store creatively to fill Tweedy’s big clown shoes in 2024!
